Hi, I’m Claire Roberts, (previously Shellim)
Dip AVN(Surg) PGCertVetAA CertVNECC RVN
I have been involved in veterinary nursing for over 20 years and have worked in private, charity, emergency and referral practices.
Bringing high quality, bespoke training to practices all over the country has been my passion for many years.
We are now regarded as one of the best and most trusted of training organisations in the country with a loyal client base across the UK
If you’re looking for quality and experience from your training provider then your search is over.
It is my simple aim to provide the very best on-site training for your staff that is tailored to meet the needs of your practice
I have written numerous articles and have lectured at BVNA, BSAVA, Vets Now and Vets South congresses.
In all my roles, I have strived to provide first class training that empowers staff and provides them with the skills they need to be excellent veterinary nurses.
I spent 3 years as the Assistant Regional Manager for a large veterinary group which has enabled me to understand the challenges faced by employers with regards to time, logistics and finance that often limits the amount of CPD they are able to offer their valued employees.
My aim is to tailor your in-house training package taking on board all these factors.
I am currently working part-time as a surgical nurse at Oakwood Veterinary Referrals
SynergyCPD launched it's own training venue based in Cheshire in 2019 to provide attendance courses for veterinary nurses, receptionists and vets
Hi, I'm Claire Woolford
My name is Claire Woolford, I joined SynergyCPD in 2017 to provide in house training on anaesthesia, CPR and critical care.
I have been a veterinary nurse for 20 years, I spent 8 years in general practice before moving to referral nursing. I joined Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in 2006, where I am currently a head nurse and responsible for running the soft tissue theatre. I have always had a passion for anaesthesia and in 2013 I gained my VTS (Veterinary Technician Specialist) in Anesthesia and Analgesia. This is an american qualification that has allowed me to develop my anaesthesia skills and knowledge to a high level. I am a member of the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia. I have a particular interest in feline anaesthesia and analgesia.
I have lectured at BVNA congresses and I run in-house nurse CPD sessions at Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists. I love teaching nurses about anaesthesia and how they can implement simple changes in practice that mean their patients have the best outcome and allows nurses to really enjoy their anaesthesia.
Hi, I'm Hayley Walters
Hi my name is Hayley and I have been veterinary nursing for over 20 years.
I joined Synergy CPD in 2018 to provide in house training on pain recognition, anaesthesia, analgesia and dog behaviour.
I spent 10 years in mixed animal practice in Derbyshire before moving to China for 3 years to work with moon bears rescued from the bile farming industry and meat dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade.
I then spent 6 years working at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh as an Anaesthesia and Welfare Nurse. My anaesthesia role involved working in the referral teaching hospital with final year vet students helping them to prepare for anaesthesia, induce, monitor, and recover their patients. My welfare role involved teaching in vet schools in developing countries such as India, Sri Lanka, Bosnia and Vietnam. I still work remotely for The University of Edinburgh and have been instrumental in setting up India’s first ever 12 month vet nurse training programme for which I now provide free, easily accessible, online teaching resources.
I am now in small animal first opinion practice but have also worked for Vets Now for many years in my free time, spoken at BVNA and BSAVA, and I received an MBE from Prince Charles in 2018 for services to veterinary education and animal welfare.
Teaching is my passion and veterinary nurses are at the forefront of making the lives of so many animals so much better.
Hi, I'm Vicky Ford-Fennah
My name is Vicky Ford-Fennah, I joined SynergyCPD in 2019 to provide in house training in Anaesthesia, analgesia (including pain assessment and local anaesthetic techniques), CPR and critical care.
I graduated from the University of Bristol in 2006, having qualified as a VN earlier that year. During the 4 year degree she worked in both small animal and mixed practice. It was during this time she started to develop an interest in anaesthesia and analgesia.
I was employed by the University of Bristol referral hospital in 2006 in the newly created post of anaesthesia/ MRI nurse. During this time I developed the anaesthesia side of the role and concentrated on this aspect for 8 years as an Anaesthesia Nurse. I supervised both veterinary surgeon and nurse undergraduates whilst on clinical rotations within the referral hospital. In 2018 I moved to Bridgwater and Taunton College as an Associate Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing and an Internal Quality Assurer (IQA). I also work as a anaesthesia nurse locum.
In 2013 I gained the Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia status and I am member of the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia.
I am the co-authored anaesthesia chapters within nursing textbooks (Small animal and Equine). I have lectured at BSAVA congress, London Vet Show, for AVA and at regional CPD meetings for BVNA, drug companies and Langford Veterinary Services. I also tutor for Oncore online CPD.
I am also the Nurse/technician representative on the Executive Committee of the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) and I am the RCVS VNFutures working party looking at post-registration qualifications.
I have a particular interest in pain assessment and management and advanced anaesthesia monitoring techniques.
As shown by my career, I love teaching about anaesthesia and helping individuals to improve the care they provide to their patients and demystifying areas which they may find confusing or difficult.
I live with her husband (who is also a Veterinary Nurse), my two children, a year old Golden Retriever - Yoda and an elderly rescued Maine Coon - Treacle.
Hi, I'm Michelle Moran
I joined synergy in 2019 to provide training on anesthesia and analgesia related topics as well as CPR and critical care.
I have been a Veterinary Nurse for 15 years and I have worked in various busy small animal general practices including one of the busiest charity practices in the country. It was here I gained my certificate in ECC and completed my Bsava merit award in medicine.
I moved to referral in 2016 to follow my dream of becoming a specialist anesthesia nurse and furthering my knowledge and skills by perusing the Veterinary Technician Specialist qualification in Anaesthesia & Analgesia. I am proud to say I gained this specialist status this year.
I currently work as the Clinical Lead Nurse in Anaesthesia at North West Veterinary Specialists where my main areas of interest are emergency and high-risk anesthesia case management along with multimodal analgesia techniques.
I am a member of the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia & Analgesia and with my qualification, I hope to inspire Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses to provide excellent anesthesia & analgesia care to patients and to increase their confidence especially with challenging cases.
