About The Event

Speaker: Elizabeth A. Leece BVSc CVA DipECVAA MRCVS

Painful patients present to veterinary practices on a daily basis and unfortunately one drug cannot be used to treat all the pain syndromes encountered. The day will focus on management of acute traumatic or post surgical pain, recognition and possible treatment options, including the use of local analgesia, to provide preventative analgesia. We will then consider the more complicated pathophysiology of chronic pain, learn how to approach and implement a pain management plan and look at the newer drugs available on the market. Most importantly we will consider how we can effectively monitor the effectiveness of our treatment and how client education can help us to manage their pet.

Bring your own problem cases for the group to discuss later in the afternoon
