About The Event

Speaker: Claire Roberts DipAVN(Surg) PGCertVetAA CertVNECC RVN

This is a full day dedicated to the trainee veterinary nurse and had been heavily subsidised to enable as many of you to attend as possible. The aim of the day is to help student vet nurses feel more confident in looking after their patients during anaesthesia We will look at:

  • Why we monitor anaesthesia
  • The stages of anaesthesia and your responsibility during these stages
  • The importance of recording our findings properly
  • What to do when things start to go wrong
  • Closer look at pulse oximetry
  • Closer look at blood pressure monitoring
  • Beginning to understand capnography

The day will end with an open discussion where you will have the opportunity to discuss your worries, reflect on what you have learnt and talk about any cases that you have found challenging.
