Online training sessions are a great alternative to face-to-face training.

I started providing online training sessions during the pandemic and they have proved so popular that I have continued them. They allow the whole veterinary team to join a training session from any computer at work or at home. This can be especially useful as getting your whole team together in one place at one time can be tricky!

The online sessions are available for all but especially those practices currently outside our normal travel area.

The sessions are conducted on Zoom.

This platform is easy for everyone to use on all kinds of devices from your main computer in your staff room to an iPad or laptop at home.

Training can still be tailored to your practice needs and everyone is encouraged to get involved, ask questions and discuss any changes that they would like to implement. We can cover any topic in anaesthesia or analgesia for you.

The most commonly asked for subject is CPR training. This theory training is based on the RECOVER guidelines and covers all aspects of basic and advanced life support.

Other commonly booked topics include:

Multi-parameter monitoring
Capnography
ECG
Blood pressure management
Peri-operative analgesia
Constant Rate Infusions

We can also offer access to a recording of your training session for a period of six months.

This allows any team members that were unable to attend the live session a chance to gain CPD and if staff want to watch the session again they are able to do so in their own time.

A period of six months of access is provided, this is set because as with all veterinary medicine, anaesthesia knowledge is continually advancing and after six months some guidance may have changed.

We're doing really well with the multi-parameter, and the nurses have really taken on board the benefit of lowering iso where possible and we have changed our bitch spay protocols to include low dose ketamine between prep and theatre and our patients have really seen the benefit.
